We are excited to introduce our latest high-performance [Ex] light fitting: The EdelEx 2300 – the world's most powerful, safest, and most compact [Ex] light fitting.

With a luminous flux of 2,300 lumens, an exceptionally compact housing measuring just Ø 79 x 130 mm, and certified optical intrinsic safety, the EdelEx 2300 sets new standards in the field of explosion-proof light fittings.

Leading power-to-size ratio (2,300 Lm, but only Ø 79 x 130 mm)

The EdelEx 2300 achieves a luminous flux of 2,300 lumens — comparable to the luminous flux of a halogen lamp rated at around 100 watts. At the same time, the housing, measuring Ø 79 x 130 mm, remains extremely compact.

This is made possible by our newly developed PowerLED© module, which combines maximum efficiency with minimal size. With 117 lumens per watt, the module achieves a very high efficiency. By contrast, other products with higher energy consumption (watts) often produce less light (lumens), since a large portion of the energy is lost as heat — an especially undesirable effect in [Ex] areas. Lumens (output) is what matters — not watts (input).

Another important point: High lumen ratings alone don’t tell the whole story. With light fittings, what matters is how much light actually enters the vessel. Reflectors, such as those used in the EdelEx 2300, play a crucial role here. Optical focusing maximizes the luminous intensity. With alternative products that lack a reflector, a significant portion of the generated light is lost within the housing.

Unmatched safety due to optical intrinsic safety

The EdelEx 2300 is certified according to the concept of optical intrinsic safety — in accordance with EN 60079-28. This means that even in the event of a fault, the emitted optical energy is insufficient to ignite an explosive atmosphere. As a result, the light fitting is permitted to illuminate directly the Zones 0 and 20.

This level of safety offers a decisive advantage: The EdelEx 2300 not only increases process safety but also provides additional security with regard to plant responsibility and liability issues. To the best of our knowledge, only MAX MÜLLER light fittings currently offer this feature.

Uncompromising quality: 100% developed and manufactured in Switzerland

The EdelEx 2300 was developed entirely in Switzerland — including the PowerLED© module. Manufacturing also takes place entirely in Switzerland. The housing, LED module, and other key components are also sourced from Swiss suppliers.

In development, production, and the supply chain, we draw on decades of experience in the field of process illumination. The result is products designed for maximum reliability and an exceptionally long service life.
