We have a complete range of biogas sight glasses, which are used worldwide for safe monitoring of biogas formation. Our biogas sight glasses meet the highest quality standards – according to our quality commitment “Swiss Excellence – Since 1936”.

For more than 20 years, our biogas sight glasses have been in use thousands of times and under the toughest conditions. As specialists, we have been a member of the German Biogas Association for decades.

Our biogas sight glasses are either used in new plants (usually with installation from the inside), or in existing plants (usually with installation from the outside, without opening the fermenter). They enable efficient and safe visual monitoring of the processes in the fermenter, either on site or in a control room (in combination with our [Ex] cameras).

Requirements

Our portfolio consists of three product series. Each product is configurable according to your needs. This allows us to cover all common requirements. Here is an overview of the possibilities:

(1) Versions/ product series:

BGS ST.IF: Installation from the inside; Flat version with round plate
BGS ST.IP: Iinstallation from the inside; Inclined “panorama” version with round plate
BGS ST.AF: Installation from the outside; Flat version with round plate and cylindrical
metal strip
(2) Nominal sizes/ nominal pressures:

Nominal sizes: DN 200 or DN 300 (others on request)
Nominal pressure: PN 0
(3) Materials:

Flanges: 1.4541/ 321, 1.4571/ 316Ti, 1.4404/ 316L (others on request)
Glass plates: Soda lime/ DIN 8902 (up to 150°C) (others on request)
Gaskets: Klingersil® C-4400 (others on request)
Bolts: Stainless steel
(4) Machining/ special versions:

Installation of light fittings, camera systems, and pneumatic wipers possible (without additional machining of the biogas sight glass, even retrospectively)

Central and lateral wipers for sight glasses and metal-fused sight glasses, manual or pneumatic, up to 16 bar and with vacuum

Spraying devices

For cleaning the inside of glass plates, with spray head in the center of the glass or on the side, for pressure or vacuum vessels
